Studying in colour

Long time no blog; sorry for the absence but the past few months have been hectic. Exams have started – you know, the big, important ones that will decide my whole future.I’ve been so scared that I've had sleepless nights, poor me. Hopefully they'll be OK and the SQA people will be nice and [...]

Byron calls in the experts for Ben Nevis Challenge

The team at Byron Hairdressing is taking no chances when it comes to raising money for Maggie’s through the salon’s Big Ben Nevis Challenge next month, when the team will ascend the mountain en masse for charity. Earlier this May they met with Laurie Anderson, race coordinator with Scottish Hill Racing and local Kirkcaldy businessman, to quiz him on the dos and don’ts of conquering Ben Nevis.

Discovering proper music.

Spring is here, which means the Brit and NME awards are fast becoming a distant memory. But before we forget completely, let me wax lyrical about them a while. My mum and I played a little game of guessing who would win, and guess what? All of the Brit awards were exactly as we [...]

It’s a happy ‘Noel’ for Lady Byron

I trust everyone had a fantastic Christmas and New Year? Full of fun and happy times? I was super-stressed over this Christmas break, what with up-and-coming prelims and an ill grandparent things seemed to be a little messed up this year. However, on Christmas morning I got possibly the best present I could wish [...]

Just the beginning

My time with the L'Oreal young artistic team came to an end just before Christmas. I was sad about this, but positive at the same time as I look on it as part of a journey rather than an end of things. Being part of the team was amazing and inspirational. I learned so much [...]

Pupils strut their stuff on the catwalk at Dunnikier

Forget London Fashion Week. Dunnikier Primary School was where it was at this week as pupils and parents strutted their stuff up and down the catwalk to raise money for the school. And where there's fashion, catwalks and just general grooming, the team from Byron are sure to be nearby. The entire team finished early [...]

October is a wicked month

So, October was a good month for me. Not just because of the two-week holiday in the middle or I am sporting gorgeous hair after a recent visit to my favourite hair salon (that’s Byron Hairdressing of course!) but because two of my favourite artists brought out albums within a week of each other [...]

From Kirkcaldy with Love

The not-so secret mission of Kirkcaldy salon, Byron Hairdressing, to beat all its previous fundraising efforts for Maggie's Fife was caught on camera this week as STV Daybreak dropped by to witness its James Bond-themed charity day. The whole team gave up their Sunday, armed with instructions to foil any dastardly bad-hair-day plots, while Annette [...]

Making it in Chelsea

I'm loving Made in Chelsea at the moment. I love a bit of trash TV though I do have some aspirations. I'm much more of a MIC fan than a TOWIE (The Only Way Is Essex) fan, so you see I do have some taste. If you've never seen it then, basically, it just [...]
