Hi Everyone

With less than two weeks to go until our 46 mile coastal walk challenge I thought I would give you our last update before we set of on 27th May.

When we started out doing our charity challenge for Maggie’s centre eight years ago (we climbed to the top of Ben Nevis and I cut one of our team’s hair) I never thought this would become a bi-annual event and that every challenge set would become more challenging.  In the process it has taught us a lot about ourselves as a team. It’s the support we give each other, the drive and commitment we have and sheer determination to complete the challenge which is everything I see from the team who run Maggie’s.  The truly inspirational people who use Maggie’s centres, the challenges they face every day as the go through their cancer journey is key reason why we challenge ourselves and why we raise money every year for this amazing charity.

Diane who is one of our front of house team, suggests what our challenge can be and once we have all agreed she then becomes our personal trainer. Diane’s focus and support is what helps us get through the training, all 200 miles of it on coastal paths and hills throughout Fife. I can speak for the whole team and say we are so grateful for all she has done.

The entire team are involved, 5 of us are doing the whole walk and we have team members doing part of it and meeting us along the way to give us support.  I will warn you all now the cheers from the team when we arrive at Ravenscraig park around 9pm on Sunday 27th May will be heard all over fife!

The support our wonderful clients, family and friends have given us for over 20 years is absolutely amazing and I want to say a heartfelt thank you to all of you because without you we wouldn’t have raised the money we have donated to Maggie’s centres Fife, our current total raised so far is £3000 ‘AMAZING’.

Our training is now winding down in preparation for the big day which starts at the unearthly hour of 5am when we will be picked up at the salon to take us to St Andrews where the walk will begin.  So wish us luck on our epic walk stay tuned to face book and Instagram where we will be doing live chats to keep you informed of our progress and read my blog on the 30th may where I will tell you all about it so until then

Much love

Ronnie
