Hi Everyone.
As you all know I am passionate about continual learning and personally feel that hairdressing and education are perfect partners. After thirty seven years there is still so much to learn and experience and as I always say this career is a journey, not a destination.
Knowledge is meant to be shared and yesterday I had the privilege to teach students at Fife College and what a great day it was. The students had recently qualified and yesterday was about starting the next chapter of their hairdressing journey so after me doing a demonstration on cutting it was down to business.
All the students had classic cutting skills so the session was all about techniques to personalise haircuts and understand what truly makes the style work for the client. The session also covered consultation because without great communication we will never truly understand our clients’ needs.
The students worked on models and we covered many topics from face shapes and suitability to hair trends and adapting them to suit their models hair type and lifestyle.
It was a productive afternoon and it was great to see how the students started the day with trepidation and uncertainty and then grow in confidence to achieve great results on their clients.
It was a fantastic day and great to share ideas with our next generation of hairdressers.
Catch up with you all next week
Ronnie
