Hi everyone

A good Friend sent me a link to a new exhibition opening at the metropolitan museum in New York, a solo show of the work of fashion designer Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garcons also the theme of this year’s Met Gala Ball(Gigi Hadid was absolutely stunning and my favourite).

The show named “art of the in between” is aptly named because her designs are as much sculpture as they are clothes and her influences between east and west are also apparent in her work. Or are they sculpture and wearable works of art? That’s what I love about her, she makes you think about each garment and the story she is telling.

What is also apparent is how creative genres influence each other, and when I look at her designs, their shapes and fabric it’s almost seeing a sculpture come to life.

She truly is a creative genius and only the second living solo designer to have an exhibition at the Met.

Until next week

Ronnie
