Following on from last week and talking about people that inspire me and make me want to continue to strive to be the best I can be I have to talk this week about Sam McKnight.
Sam McKnight’s career spans more than 40 years and his work continues to grace front covers of every fashion bible and catwalks the world over.
His work is inspiring because he has the gift to create hairstyles with a vision that captures the essence of the moment and enhances all the other elements of the photograph.
I spoke last week about modernity and this is something he also does in his work, when reinventing hairstyles or periods he never makes it look retro but instead it looks fresh and innovative.
The ability to take someone who had a very public and formal image and creates images that are the complete opposite was truly visionary (Princess Diana, 1990’s Vogue).
I can go on and on but I hope this gives you a little insight into how inspiration plays such an important part in hairdressing.
Until next week
