Last week a client asked me how I get inspiration and come up with ideas for client’s hair and as I discussed it with her I thought I would share my thoughts with you.
Ideas are all around us and different things resonate with us. Fashion is an obvious source so for example a 70’s trend will make me look at hair from that time and how we can take the idea and make it current so it doesn’t look retro, but modern with a nod to that era.
Also street style is a great way to get ideas; the way people create their own style that’s individual to them. An example of that is Punk and how that has influenced fashion and style for the last four decades.
Magazines, books, fashion bloggers and other hairdressers are some of my biggest influences but sharing ideas with the team and turning the thoughts into reality are what it’s all about
