Byron Hairdressing’s Ronnie Marshall will be the Man with the Golden Scissors later this month when he and the team give up their Sunday rest for a James Bond-themed day in aid of Maggie’s Fife. Local celebrity Laura Haldane from STV (With Love) will also be there on a not-so secret mission to pick out the many raffle winners.

The annual event, in which the team cut and style for donations (every penny of which goes to the charity), takes place on Sunday 30 October. Over the past 10 years the salon has raised more than £15,000 for Maggie’s, which provides a unique and innovative programme of information and support to people living with cancer, their families and their friends.

Those lucky enough to land an appointment at what is fast becoming the charity event of the year can expect 007-style glamour, with cool cuts, superb styling and, of course, Miss Moneypenny’s mouth-watering cupcakes (though the recipe’s top-secret, of course). The whole team will be springing into action, with instructions to foil any dastardly bad-hair-day plots. Extra pampering will be provided at the hands of local massage therapist Annette Burgess, owner of Sole~Soul Therapy, and the collection of amazing raffle prizes on offer includes a year’s free hairdressing, £100 gift voucher from Charlie Reid Travel, dinner for two at Society, a luxury Clarins facial from Bliss and many others.

Appointments are going faster than Bond’s Aston Martin, but there some left while raffle tickets will be available at reception any time.
